Characteristics
- The plant: Robinia pseudoacacia, of American origin, was introduced to Europe in the 17th century. It is a tree with large black thorns that blooms in spring in clusters of white and very fragrant flowers.
- Organoleptic characteristics: clear, liquid and transparent honey with a smooth and velvety taste.
- Composition: rich in fructose and poor in mineral salts and enzymes. It is a honey whose crystallization process is slow to arise.
- Health uses: In addition to the normal beneficial characteristics of any type of honey, acacia honey in particular is a useful anti-inflammatory for the upper airways, a liver detoxifier and fights stomach acidity.
